some reading list figures

i just added the 100th French book to my big list of books i read! i started this list in 2012 and it counts unique books; excluding rereads, but including multiple translations of the same book. French is the second language to have hit triple figures on that list, the first of course being English. currently, i have the following numbers:

436 English
100 French
69 Finnish
63 Dutch
14 German
1 Romanian

it's pretty exciting to have gotten access to this many French books in a relatively short amount of time; i didn't have many before 2017. it's also cool to read so regularly in a language i didn't grow up with, to the point where starting a French book doesn't feel any different to me than starting an English book.

i expect Dutch to be the next to hit triple figures, since i have such easy access to Dutch books in large quantities. my Dutch language readership has also drastically increased recently; 50 of the ones on my list were read since the beginning of 2019.
i'm sure i will eventually reach 100 Finnish books, too, but nowadays i can only get a few of those per year, so that has really slowed down.
i'm not as certain about German. i guess i may eventually, if i keep up the current rate, but that will be far off in the future. as for Romanian, it's not impossible that i will one day read one or two more Romanian books, but i highly doubt that there will be any significant increase.

this has been "caring too much about numbers" with Taina.
