i was just listening to a song in Icelandic, and i found a Russian translation of the lyrics in the comments (which i mostly understood). or sometimes German is the only language i understand in which i can find certain information or instructions. i don't master either language particularly well, but occasionally they can be of use to me.
not to mention how much i use English every day without thinking about it. i do (rarely) meet people who don't speak English, i imagine that can make life quite a bit more complicated.
