(not the bedroom i grew up in though
because my sibling and i switched rooms
after i first moved out
they have the bigger one now)

hateful noises

traveling with the regional train company in late december sucks because they replace the regular PA "ding" with a horrific metallic screeching noise. the first time i was exposed to it, it took me half a dozen repeats to realise that nothing's wrong, the train isn't experiencing acute structural integrity failure, it's just supposed to be sleigh bells. it hurts my ears...

problematic fave AI

i'm in the middle of two books already, and there's two more books i need to read this month for book clubs, but instead i decided to start a reread of Embers of War by Gareth L. Powell, because i love my warship AI baby. she did some war crimes but she wants to atone for them! that's why she's an SAR vessel now. except she still really wants to blow shit up... also she's an edgy teenager. Trouble Dog is my problematic fave and i love her
