people keep asking me if i only cook Chinese and Vietnamese food, and why. and i don't really have a good answer for that – i just happen to have found sources of good recipes, dishes that i really enjoy, and at this point i have a pretty specialised pantry and i'm too lazy to change.

however, i do occasionally think about getting into Finnish cooking, so i'm looking through my Finnish recipe book now. here are my thoughts:
  • Where Are The Spices
  • seriously, it's all just seasoned with salt, black pepper and onion, plus garlic and bay leaf if they're feeling fancy
  • although i have to say the things with Aura cheese sound interesting. too bad you can't get Aura cheese here.
  • everything is meat
  • i don't have an oven to roast/bake stuff for half a day
