new year's poem for Faes & Gays

i wrote a silly little poem for Faes & Gays book club for the occasion of new year's eve:

thank you for twelve times checking the shop
and anxiously waiting for deliveries to drop
these are reads you don't want to miss
we all need to know if the vampires f– kiss!
thanks for twelve deadlines (that kept shifting)
and twelve rewrites, all of them drifting
further and further from the original story
too bad if you loved the book! not anymore, sorry
ratings drop from five to two stars
after you join these discussions of ours
(and none of us remembers the plot)
but thank you too for the recommendations i got
i look forward to a new year of not reading alone
and of course more skulls and teeth and bone!
