Stay Home Reading Tag
Apr. 25th, 2020 10:54 ami don't know, i just think tags are fun, i miss them from my days on the blue hellsite
How is your reading going while staying home?
same as always, i spend most of the time at home anyway, i don't get to read much elsewhere.
Where have you been reading at home?
at my desk or on the sofa downstairs (since i'm staying with my parents at the moment). sometimes on my bed for a little while, but i don't think it's very comfortable to read in bed. i know, i'm the only one.
Best book you’ve read during isolation?
honestly? i'd say my reread of The Three-Body Problem by Liu Cixin.
What’s your favourite feel good book?
some of my top favourites that make me feel good because they're so beloved and familiar aren't really feel-good books. but i think All Systems Read/Défaillances systèmes by Martha Wells qualifies.
Book you wish you could buy or borrow from the library?
i reserved Het recht van de Radch by Ann Leckie just before the library closed and i left town, i was really looking forward to reading the Dutch translations of Imperial Radch!
i ordered some books from my local book shop recently, but the thing i miss is browsing and finding books i wasn't expecting.
Author you want to shout out during this time?
i am very bad at knowing basically anything at all about authors, i'm just an idiot who only reads the books. that said, i want to shout out Alice Oseman. i enjoyed Solitaire, loved Radio Silence and I Was Born for This and i'm super looking forward to Loveless (aro-ace main character!) which is supposed to be released this summer!
What is your Reading Rush TBR?
i didn't do the Reading Rush, but if i had, i would have considered the following:
– Le Show de la vie by Chi Li for book with a house on the cover
– Sinun lapsesi eivät ole sinun by Laura Honkasalo for book set somewhere you wish you could go (i really want to return to Finland)
– for book that will make you smile, maybe reread something by Terry Pratchett
– for a book to read in the same room the whole time - uh idk this can be anything so i maybe The Soldier's Return by Alan Monaghan
